Biocyclic Vegan International at Biofach 2026 in Nuremberg/Germany, February 2026

Rethinking Value Chains – Organic and Vegan from the Ground Up

BIOFACH 2026 – Key Outcomes and Perspectives for Biocyclic Vegan Agriculture

From 10–13 February 2026, Biocyclic Vegan International, in cooperation with the German Förderkreis Biozyklisch-Veganer Anbau e. V., was present at BIOFACH in Nuremberg under the motto “Rethinking Organic Value Chains – Vegan from the Ground Up.” The organisation was represented at two locations within the exhibition. One stand was located in the NGO area, in Hall 9, which ensured high visibility and a constant flow of visitors, leading to many spontaneous encounters, inspiring conversations and exchanges with a broad audience. The second location was in the expert lounge BIOimSEH in Hall 7, a dedicated networking and dialogue space within BIOFACH that brings together stakeholders from the organic sector. This setting provided a quieter and more professional environment for in-depth discussions, bilateral meetings and strategic exchanges. It also allowed the organisation to host two focused events with invited stakeholders, strengthening professional cooperation and partnerships.

In addition, Biocyclic Vegan International contributed to the official panel programme at BIOFACH. These sessions addressed the future of organic value chains, the role of vegan agriculture in retail, gastronomy and sustainable food systems, and the importance of closer cooperation between the organic and vegan movements.

The presence at BIOFACH once again demonstrated the growing relevance of biocyclic vegan agriculture within the organic sector and beyond. The main objective was to strengthen awareness among professional stakeholders, expand partnerships and open new pathways for market access for biocyclic vegan products. Numerous exchanges with farmers, processors, retailers, as well as NGO activists and academics highlighted the increasing interest in plant-based and stock-free production systems as a credible and future-oriented approach.

A major focus of this year’s participation was the new cooperation with V-Label. This partnership significantly contributes to the visibility of vegan agriculture and strengthens the connection between primary production and consumer communication. By linking certification at farm level with a well-established consumer label, the cooperation is expected to support the development of transparent and trustworthy value chains and to increase recognition of biocyclic vegan products across European markets.

The fair also marked the launch of the new concept, brand and marketing platform “Vegan Farmers”, which was introduced in Germany during Biofach. The initiative is designed to strengthen the market position of biocyclic vegan farms by creating a shared identity and communication framework that connects primary production more directly with organic retail and end consumers.

Another important topic addressed during the fair was the growing interest from gastronomy and catering companies in sourcing biocyclic vegan ingredients. Several stakeholders expressed their intention to use such ingredients more systematically and to highlight this in their communication towards guests and customers. This development is seen as an important step towards bringing the concept of “vegan from the field” into professional food service and strengthening the link between sustainable agriculture and culinary innovation. These opportunities were further explored in a panel discussion on the future of sustainable cuisine, which highlighted gastronomy as a strategic driver for market development. Martina Vogl, founder of the Voglhaus concept in Constance, shared practical insights into building a successful plant-based hospitality brand and translating sustainability into a clear value proposition for guests. She was joined by Balázs Tarsoly, branding specialist and author of Zukunftsküche (Future Cuisine), who addressed the growing market potential of sustainable gastronomy, the importance of strong brand positioning and the role of storytelling in creating differentiation and long-term customer loyalty. Together, they underlined how the biocyclic vegan approach can support food service companies in responding to changing consumer expectations while strengthening their competitive profile.

Discussions with large-scale arable farms indicated that, for the first time, there is a realistic perspective for substantial quantities of certified biocyclic vegan raw materials becoming available in the coming years. This outlook is expected to give processing companies greater confidence to invest in the development of fully vegan products based on certified veganically grown raw materials. The prospect of reliable supply chains is a key milestone for the professionalisation and scaling of the sector.

The BIOFACH programme also contributed to an intensified dialogue between the organic and the vegan movements. There is a growing awareness that both need to work more closely together in order to address global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss and ethical food production. In this context, biocyclic vegan agriculture is increasingly recognised as a consistent approach that connects the principles of organic farming with the ethical foundations of veganism and can serve as a bridge between the two movements.

The event further led to new contacts with farmers interested in conversion and certification. Many trade visitors showed strong curiosity about the practical and economic aspects of the biocyclic vegan approach, underlining the importance of continued outreach, training and advisory work.

Overall, BIOFACH 2026 proved to be a highly inspiring and forward-looking event. It highlighted the steady growth of the biocyclic vegan movement and confirmed that its voice is gaining increasing attention within the organic sector, food industry and society at large. The perspectives for future development, cooperation and market expansion are promising and support the continued transformation towards sustainable, plant-based and ethically consistent food systems.
