Lianos Olive Oil – Tradition, Innovation and Biocyclic Vegan Farming in Aigialeia

On the northern coast of the Peloponnese, in Aigion on the Gulf of Corinth, at the foot of the Panachaiko mountain range and facing the slopes of Mount Parnassus, lies one of Greece’s most beautiful and fertile agricultural regions: Aigialeia, facing the slopes of Mount Parnassus. This unique landscape, shaped by sun, sea breeze and mineral-rich soils, is home to the family-run Lianos olive estate – a place where tradition, innovation and ecological vision come together.

The Lianos family has been producing olive oil for four generations. Today, the farm, olive mill and bottling facility are all located on the family property, allowing the entire production chain to take place “under one roof”. The estate is managed by Konstantinos Lianós, with his son Panagiotis already actively involved, continuing the family legacy.

The producer is a former participant of the Biocyclic Vegan training programme and is now fully biocyclic vegan certified. As a next step, the farm is establishing a phytoponic composting facility, which will process the secondary raw materials of the family’s own olive mill – including olive pomace and olive leaves – as well as grape pomace and olive tree prunings from the region. This closed-loop system reflects the farm’s commitment to a nature-based, animal-free circular agriculture.

In Aigialeia, olives and lemons have traditionally been grown together in mixed cultivation, and the Lianos groves follow this centuries-old practice. In the near future, biocyclic vegan lemons from the family estate will complement their olive oil production.

Lianos Olive Oil is a premium extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality grade and is exported worldwide. It is widely recognised as a top-tier product and a true ambassador of Greek olive oil craftsmanship.

Visitors are also welcome to experience the farm first-hand. Guests can stay directly within the family olive grove and take part in the harvest or other seasonal farm activities, gaining insight into olive cultivation and sustainable farming practices.
