Moosfeld Gemüse GmbH near Lake Constance has been growing high-quality organic vegetables for many decades. Protecting nature and the environment has always been a special concern. The company attaches particular importance to the preservation and promotion of living and fertile soils.
These are the pillars of their philosophy:
No use of chemical pesticides, fungicides and insecticides
No use of commercial animal fertilisers
Use of sustainable energy sources
Regenerative agriculture
Their solar thermal system for heating and dehumidifying the greenhouses was the largest process heating system of its kind in Germany when it was commissioned in 2015.
In addition to its own marketing, Moosfeld also supplies regional traders.
The operation became certified according to the Biocyclic Vegan Standard in October 2023.
Vegan Farmers is a marketing initiative founded by Jakob Mannherz and Moosfeld Gemüse GmbH to increase the visibility and market presence of products from biocyclic vegan agriculture. Presented at BIOFACH 2026, the initiative connects farmers, processors, retailers and consumers through a dedicated platform, creating new marketing opportunities for products grown according to the Biocyclic Vegan Standard.
Initially focusing on fresh vegetable boxes for direct delivery and pre-packed veggie bags for organic retail, Vegan Farmers is gradually expanding its range to include processed products. The platform is open to additional farms and food companies, helping to strengthen biocyclic vegan value chains and make “vegan from the field” products more widely available. In line with its ethical vision, part of the initiative’s revenue also supports farmed animal sanctuaries.
